Welcome to Chumuckla Elementary School, home of the Indians where every day our Chumuckla Indian “TRIBE” lives our expectations of: Trustworthy, Respectful, Responsible Indians (who) Believe in Excellence! We are thrilled that you are with us this year and we are excited about all that the 2020-2021 school year holds. Our goal is for each child to reach his/her full potential by providing each student an outstanding, appropriate, and effective education. It is also our goal that our students feel welcome, safe, loved, challenged, and respected while at Chumuckla Elementary School, and our dedicated faculty, staff and administration will strive to reach these goals each day.
This year our school-wide theme is “Lighting a Path to Success for Every Child, Every Day.” We chose this as our theme this year because it aligns with our AR camping theme of “Camp Out with a Good Book.” We also want to provide a pathway for our students to succeed, not only in their time here at CES, but also in what they will face in the years to come, especially in such a technologically advanced world whether the students are being taught through remote learning, or they are here with us at the school. Obviously our goal is not to teach elementary students high-tech computer skills, but it is to teach them the soft skills, knowledge and strategies they will need to help them be successful in the changing world in which they will be a part. We want each student that is here to become active and contributing members of society. Of course, our school will look much different this year as we operate under the newest CDC guidelines with everyone on campus wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible. Did we even know what “social distancing” really meant last February?
An important part of student success in school is consistent parent involvement in and support for the educational process. We need our parents to be involved and support us in our efforts to educate their children. In a normal year, we encourage parent and family visits to the school. With the current CDC guidelines, we aren’t allowed to have visitors except in specified areas. We also aren’t allowed to have parent volunteers in our classrooms. Only with everyone working together can we make a difference!
Once again, welcome to Chumuckla Elementary School! Please feel free to let us know if we can assist you in any way.
